The next season for Kennedy football is coming up soon. So far the team has started workouts in the weight room and are going to progress their workouts throughout the next few months. New head coach, Mervin "Coach Merv" Brookins, has high expectations for this season and expects to make a change within the team and the culture.

Listed here are some important dates and information you may need to know if you are interested in playing this season.
Dates:
Spring Ball starts Monday, May 5.
First Game is Friday, August 15. (Note: School begins the following Monday, August 18.)
I talked to Coach Merv about the program:
Clarion: What do students need to expect when coming to try out or practice?
Coach Merv: “Students need to expect inclusiveness, collaboration, expect a challenge, and give full effort everyday.”
What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
“Building a foundation and letting the players know that not only me (Coach Merv) as a head coach and the rest of the coaching staff but the rest of the school that they are there for them giving their full support. I also expect students to give consistent R.E.Ps (Relentless Effort with Purpose) on a daily basis.”
How do you plan to make Cougar football more competitive?
“Preparation. Making sure students are prepared, on and off the field.”
If you are interested in playing this upcoming fall season, make sure that you have your physical and are cleared to play, as well as maintaining a 2.5 grade point average. If you do not have a 2.5 GPA, Coach Merv is offering a study hall in Room V-7 after school.
If you would like to play in the upcoming season or have any questions, inquire with Coach Merv to get involved.
